WILSON SPORTING GOODS SIGNS VICKY GALINDO
US National Team Record Holder, Utility Player Added to Wilson’s 2006 US Roster
CHICAGO—August 17, 2006—In a third US National Team signing in as many months, Wilson Sporting Goods Co. signed USA Softball utility player, Pan Am Qualifier Gold Medalist and former Cal prodigy Vicky Galindo to an exclusive product agreement. Galindo logged a US National Team record with a seven RBI-game at the 2005 World Cup. As part of the agreement, the petite utility switch-hitter from Union City, California will wear the Wilson A2K ball glove, the Wilson Pro batting glove and swing one of several DeMarini bats in competitive play.
Galindo is a former University of California First Team All-American who helped lead the Bears to the Women’s College World Series for two consecutive years. She was a US National Team silver medalist at the 2005 World Cup, and a silver medalist at the 2005 Japan Cup with a batting average of .273. After one season in the National Pro Fastpitch League playing for the Chicago Bandits, Galindo spent the spring of 2006 as an undergraduate assistant at her alma mater, the University of California before being selected to the 2006 US Women’s National team.

Galindo will next visit Beijing with the US National Team at the World Cup Championships August 27 – September 5, 2006. USA Softball will compete among 16 countries, hoping to earn their sixth consecutive World Championship Title. The tournament will also qualify four teams for a place in the 2008 Beijing Olympic lineup.
