Pre-Game Rituals
A ritual is one or any series of events that help each player on the team warm-up physically, find mental focus, and apply the hours of practice it took to prepare for the game.
Mental preparation is just as important as physical preparation when you are playing at a competitive level. You may not realize it, but your team's pregame warmups are a ritual. Your coach brings the
team together to warm up physically, but working together as a team in warmups prepares your mind to play as a team on the field. You also become focused on the tasks you need to perform during the game -
hitting, bunting, fielding, throwing, etc. Without your warmups, your team probably won't play its best. If you don't have a pregame warmup, work with your coaches to establish one.
